Emirates and flydubai announced on Tuesday more routes they will be codesharing on in 2018 including Krakow and Catania, offering passengers more connectivity.
In a statement, Emirates said it will begin codesharing with flydubai on flights to the Polish city of Krakow from April 8, and on flights to Catania in Italy from June 13.
This follows the partnership between the two airlines announced in June that began with codeshare flights to 29 cities. This has since expanded to codeshares to 81 destinations, with Emirates and flydubai planning to codeshare on more routes.
In the two months since the first codeshare flights took off in late October 2017, over 165,000 passengers have benefited from the partnership, Emirates said.
For bookings under the codeshare, Emirates passengers will receive complimentary meals and the Emirates checked baggage allowance on flights operated by flydubai. Emirates Skywards members can also earn Skywards miles and tier miles on codeshare flights as per the existing loyalty programme.
Emirates said further benefits for members of each airline’s frequent flyer and loyalty programmes will be announced in due course.
Some of the destinations the two airlines already codeshare on include Bratislava in Slovakia, Chittagong (Bangladesh), Kathmandu (Nepal), Mattala Rajapaksa (Sri Lanka) and the Russian cities of Makhachkala, Ufa, and Voronezh.
